​Primary Care

For eligible students Northwestern Medicine Student Health Service can help you with your primary care needs while you’re at school. Not only can we see you when you’re sick, but we can help take care of any chronic conditions, manage most medications, treat injuries and start new treatments.

You can use MyNM, our patient portal, to schedule visits, request prescription refills and message your care team. Download the MyNM® app to manage your care no matter where you are.

Medical Services at Student Health Service Evanston
​We provide a range of services, including the following. Appointments are required. See what your health fee covers. 

• Physical exams
• Urgent medical needs (non-emergency)
• Referrals to Northwestern Medicine specialists (including urgent referrals)
• Continuity care for chronic medical conditions
• Coordination of care for complex medical conditions
• Gender-affirming primary care 
• Mental health medications, both refills and new prescriptions
• ADHD medication refills (You must already have diagnosis of ADD or ADHD from a licensed clinician.)
• Sexual and reproductive health care: 
  • Pap smears (to check for cervical cancer)
  • Testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • Pre-exposure HIV prophylaxis (PrEP)
  • Birth control counseling and prescriptions
  • IUD placement and removal
• Sports medicine services
  • Muscle or joint pain
• Injuries, including head injuries and concussions 
  • Pre-participation exams for club sports
    
  • Return to sport after an injury or illness
