What a Registered Nurse Visit Can Help You With
- Tuberculosis (TB) testing via our lab if it’s for admission health requirements. Please show staff your email or paper order from Northwestern University HIMS when you schedule or check in for your test.
- Follow-up phone appointment if you’ve tested positive for TB. To schedule this, you can call us or use MyNM (choose Nurse Telephone Call, then History of positive tuberculosis test without symptoms).
- Immunizations, including admission health requirements, flu shots and COVID-19 vaccinations.
- Allergy shots.
- Lab tests ordered by non-Student Health Service clinicians.
- Injectable medications. This requires annual approval and an order from a clinician.
- Learning how to self-administer medications.
- Blood pressure or weight checks with order and approval of a clinician.
- Suture removal. You must have instructions from the clinician who placed sutures, including the number of sutures and date they should be removed.
