How do I know what immunizations I need to meet Northwestern's Immunization Requirements?
Northwestern University's Health Information Management Services (HIMS) Department manages the University's immunization requirements. NM Student Health Service (NMSHS) can give you any immunizations or run tests needed to meet those requirements once HIMS determines what you need. NMSHS staff will ask to see the message from NU HIMS listing what you need to meet your requirements. Without this message, NMSHS will not be able to administer vaccines or run blood tests. If you have questions about the requirements, please reach out to the NU HIMS department.
What if I miss my class due to illness?
NM Student Health Service follows Northwestern University’s Academic Work Missed for Medical Reasons policy. Notes excusing students from class are given based on our clinicians’ evaluation of symptoms and current illness. As such, and in-line with the policy, retroactive notes will not be written. If you believe you are ill and cannot attend class, you must be seen by a clinician the same day. Faculty acceptance of class notes is at their own discretion and per policy/syllabi. See the policy for further details.
